Description

A GPS navigator for webOS devices, aLittleWorld uses maps from OpenStreetMap. You can zoom in from the continental scale to very local views only a few hundred metres across and drag the map to navigate. The scale and coordinates are shown at the top of the screen. A single tap toggles GPS tracking when the map moves to track your real-world movements. Your path appears as a yellow track and your location is marked by a circle at the centre of the map - coloured (red, yellow or green) according to the accuracy of the GPS fix. Your altitude, speed and the distance and duration of your trip are added to the display at the top of the screen. A GPS settings screen lets you reset the trip; choose whether to save track logs; display distances and speeds as metres, kilometres and kph or as miles, yards and feet and mph; show your average or instant speed; and, if you are following a route, choose between elapsed and remaining time and distance. Tracks can be saved loaded again later. They can be sent to any email address in GPX format. You can mark and name places which appear as orange dots, and navigate straight to them from the place list. Similar are waypoints marked by a single tap when tracking your movements with GPS. These are automatically numbered but can easily be named. you can take photos when marking places or waypoints (or add them later) and view them from the place list or waypoint list. Routes are similar to tracks but instead of marking were you have been they guide you where you want to go. You can quickly create a route with a series of taps on the map, name it, save it, and load it later. The route appears as a blue path on the map with numbered waymarks. You can also make routes using waypoints marked on a trip. An info screen displays statistics for your track and route, including altitudes and a graphic profile and help screens jog your memory if you're not sure about any of the features you don't use so often.
